The City of Colquitt Solid Waste Department provides the following services:
Residential Services - for residents of the City of Colquitt and residents of Miller County (if desired)
Commercial Services - for the City of Colquitt and Miller County

animal, fruit, vegetable, or grain origin that attends or is
attributable to the preparation,
use, cooking, or dealing in the handling or storage of meats, fish, fruits, vegetables, grains and such other organic materials or
substances normally disposed of from residences, churches, schools, small business establishments and other similar places.
Animal excrements, or manure, is also considered garbage. All other organic materials not specified herein are
also considered as garbage if such materials are not stored in such a manner as to prevent fly breeding.

Refuse includes such items as paper, cardboard, clothing, cans, glass, crockery generated by a typical household

routinely broken down, compressed or otherwise disassembled to fit into the normal garbage or refuse
containers utilized by a household or business for the collection of its waste. Trash would include,
but is not limited to, such items as large appliances, furniture, construction debris, vehicular parts and manufacturing wastes.

The City provides each household within our city
limits with a 90 gallon garbage container. The container is emptied once

Please note the following tips:
City residents – On your designated pickup day, pull your container to the curb.
County residents – On your designated pickup day, you will need to roll your container to the curb by 7:00 a.m. After your container has been emptied, you will need to roll the container back to its preferred spot.
All residents - Please make sure that the lid on your container is completely closed. Otherwise, the contents may spill into the street when emptied.
The vehicle we use actually grabs the container to empty its contents; therefore, we can only service City owened containers.
Please make sure that all of your garbage is inside the container. We cannot pick up items beside or on top of the container.
It is the customer’s responsibility to keep their container clean.
Please report any problems, such as broken lids, wheels and cracked containers to the Solid Waste Division at (229)758-1000
Solid Waste Division service – Dumpster – 4 cubic yd., 6
cubic yd., or 8 cubic yd.
Dumpster service may choose the size of the dumpster the type of container (see below).
The cost of this service is based on the size of the container.

new customers for a connection fee according to user type

is not available for new development, the developer is responsible for the
extension of a public sewer system, and the City will
inspect and maintain it after successful installation.
